Excursions...in the town

Small tour of the town of Montreux. And less than 10 monuments not to miss out on:

Covered market

A symbol of Montreux, the Covered Market, which is located at Grand-Rue 100, was first opened in 1892. The iron framework, at the origin of the construction of its metal structure, came from the same workshop as that of the Eiffel Tower. If, in 1970, the building was transformed into a carpark, it has once more taken on its original appearance and purpose. However, a carpark has since been built underground.

Palace de Caux

Located at Rue du Panorama 2, this beautiful palace, built between 1900 and 1902 by Eugène Jost, is a real monument. After having been requisitioned by the army who took in refugees, having been threatened to be destroyed, it was bought back in order to become a centre for meetings and then accommodation for the school of hotel management. Finally, it became a centre for international public conferences and an exhibition space during the months of July-August.
