Montreux in 1536
A calm and prosperous period for Montreux whilst the Bernese invade the Savoy–controlled Vaud region in 1536 and impose the Reformation. The Bernese army storm the Château de Chillon which capitulates in a matter of hours. The Vaud region henceforth changes master and religion.
