Montreux in 1798
Montreux participates in the Bernese revolution which takes place in 1798. The consequence of this event is the liberation of the Vaud region from Bernese control. It’s also during this year that General Bonaparte leaves on the conquest of the Grand St Bernard and new lands in Italy.
