By car
In order to drive on the Swiss motorway network, a permit is obligatory [cost: CHF 40, which is ~ € 25]; available at customs, in post offices or petrol stations). The wearing of a seatbelt is obligatory in the front as well as in the back of a vehicle. The speed limit in towns/cities is 30 to 50 km/h, 70 to 90 km/h outside of towns/cities and 120 km/h on motorways. Within towns/cities, at pedestrian crossings, pedestrians have the priority if there are no traffic lights!
