What was once known as the «belle-Maison», the former residence of the Bernese bailifs, today houses one of the most important collections of vestiges and testimonies of the region’s past.
Swiss and Vaudois furniture, craftwork, ancient weapons, medal collection, manuscripts,. Engravings and paintings of the Swiss Petits Maîtres make up the greater part of the permanent exhibition, which includes, in addition, a unique and particulary remarkable collection of ancient keys, locks and chests.
