Study in Switzerland

Switzerland, a multilingual country, is an exceptional place for learning French, German and Italian. Numerous language schools throughout the country welcome foreign students. Specialised schools, such as universities, polytechnical schools and art schools are also open to students on exchange programmes.
Especially known for its internationally recognised hotel management schools, Switzerland is also at the cutting edge in the areas of the exact sciences (EPFL, EPFZ) and design, for example.

Regarding Swiss universities, they are not chosen for their prestige (which is the same) but rather for their disciplines and career directions. For example, the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is more focussed on the applied sciences, whilst that of Zurich is more focussed on theory. The Arts faculty at the University of Geneva has a wider choice regarding the teaching of languages than those of Lausanne and Neuchâtel, and the faculty of theology is of Protestant orientation in Lausanne and of Catholic orientation in Fribourg etc.
